This edition is all over the map. We go to Chila and San Pedro Amuzgos, and we also explore some of Puerto’s colonias and literally put them on a map.
In the last two issues of ¡Viva Puerto! (see Issues #17 and #16) we reported on the lack of progress on the construction of the toll road to Oaxaca due to the precarious financial situation of ICA, the company that has the concession. Now, as every day Mexico’s biggest construction company appears ever closer to bankruptcy (unless it is too big to fail), we decided to wait before we go down that halfbuilt highway again.
We don’t publish again until November, but we hope to revisit the project as soon as there is progress.
