When I started ¡VIVA PUERTO! in December of 2010, it was only 20 pages, most in black and white. Look at us now! Back then the calle del Morro was a two-lane, two-way street, Airbnb did not exist in Puerto, and we didn’t have 4G connections on our smart phones. But one thing that has not changed is our town’s warm, welcoming vibe.
In these 10 years, the variety and quality of the mezcal in Puerto has certainly improved. Last year, work started yet again on the highway to Oaxaca. Some things never change. The art scene in Puerto has really taken off. In this issue we only focus on the works of local, Oaxacan artists.
