Welcome to Puerto! It’s been a very hot and humid spring, but the show must go on. This issue covers the waterfront: art, dogs, beaches, the highway, Bacocho, and real estate of course.
I regret to inform you that Ernesto J. Torres, my photographer and translator for the last 10 years, has decided to go on to other projects. He will be sorely missed. So now there are openings for photographers and Spanish translators with a background in journalism. Look at the webpage vivapuerto.com to get an idea what the work entails.
If you are into poetry, my latest book “Strategies” has just come out. It’s in English and Spanish. You can find it at Finca Las Nieves on Zicatela and Caja de Luz in the Punta. The formal presentation will be on Saturday, July 20 at 5 pm at Caja de Luz. You are all invited. I am looking forward to meeting with other poets for open readings. Let’s make Puerto the poetry capital of Oaxaca!
