Viva Puerto is now entering its 15th year, and we are as dedicated as ever to reporting on things to do and how things used to be. Remember that Puerto once was part of the Empire of Tututepec. Yes, Puerto is a lot more expensive than when I moved here in 2005, but still cheaper than Tulum. And the new highway to Oaxaca has given us access to more cultural, shopping and health care options.
Some old timers will complain that Puerto isn’t like it was when first they moved here. True, there is a lot more traffic, and it’s harder to find parking places. But I think that what we most miss is being young.
The good news is that the photographer Ernesto J. Torres of Galeria Caja de Luz, after a brief hiatus, is now back on the team.
