Puerto Escondido , where people go to get their broken hearts fixed, only to get them broken again. You live and hopefully learn. At least you are not alone.
This issue includes an article on what to do if a foreigner dies in Puerto Escondido. Some of these deaths are drug and alcohol related, although the autopsy may say it was a heart attack. People drown by defying the red flags, often in an intoxicated state. So please be careful and enjoy your stay.
Winter is the best season in Puerto, weather-wise, and also the peak tourist season. Puerto attracts people from all over the world because of its beaches and friendly vibe, not because of its unreliable internet and electricity. But it’s only a few hours from Oaxaca which has both and is well worth a visit for all its historic sites and fine cuisine.
