Summer in Puerto Escondido – we’re supposed to get a lot of rain, thanks to El Niño, but you never know. Because of the shape of the coast, storms that are headed to Puerto, often hit Chacahua and Acapulco instead. Still we get record-breaking waves and dangerous currents, including whirlpools (remolinos).
Beyond surfing, Puerto’s main attraction is its laid-back life style. This applies not only to visitors but locals as well. It’s rare when something gets done on time in a place where time seems not to exist. It’s also a place to meet new people and to party. Remember: What happens in Puerto stays in Puerto.
Here hearts break and get mended.
