Event Calendar
The Puerto Music Festival (aka the Blues Festival) is an old Puerto tradition in which local groups and musicians from Canada perform covers of popular music from the 60s and 70s. This year it is being hosted by Bill and Mel Evans at the Split Coconut on Playa Marinero, across from the Hotel Santa Fe.
Bajos de Chila
The other big event is happening in Chila. As always, that town just to the north-east of Puerto on the highway to Acapulco will honor its patron saint, San Isidro Labrador (Saint Isadore the Worker) with two weeks of activities including horse races, a rodeo, cockfights and, on February 14, the biggest fireworks display in the region.
