Carnival in Putla Villa de Guerrero
We spent two days in Putla Villa de Guerrero, six hours from Puerto Escondido, which is famous for its carnival. Carnival runs from Saturday until Tuesday prior to Ash Wednesday.

On the way back, we stopped in San Pedro Amuzgos just in time to see the dance of the marriage of the bride to the macho which marks the end of their carnival festivities.

Visitors, be aware that the fun in this small town includes being assaulted by broom-wielding, comical performers and being pelted from behind with eggs thrown by teenage boys.
